Shawarma Chicken & Rice Bake

Serves 4 20 mins Prep 55 mins Cooking

Ingredients:

  • 4 chicken legs, scored
  • 1 tbsp veg oil
  • 1 red onion, roughly chopped
  • 100g cherry tomatoes, cut in half
  • 1 Jar Very Lazy Shawarma Paste
  • 1 red pepper, cut into chunks
  • 1 mug basmati rice, washed
  • 2 mugs water
  • Parsley (optional)

Shawarma Chicken & Rice Bake

Cooking Steps

    In a large bowl mix the red onion, pepper, cherry tomatoes, oil, Very Lazy Shawarma Paste and chicken legs. Marinate in the fridge for 1 hour (or overnight if you have time).

    Preheat oven to 190C.

    In a baking dish add the Shawarma chicken mix. Place the chicken legs skin side up and place in the oven for 25 minutes.

    Remove from the oven and add the rice followed by the water. Spread it out evenly in the baking dish, then cover with foil and add back to the oven for 20 minutes.

    Remove the foil and cook for a further 5-10 minutes until the chicken is nice and golden, cooked through and the rice is cooked.

    Scatter over the chopped parsley!
