    In a small saucepan melt the butter then add the umami paste, whisk to combine, and cook over a medium to high heat for 2-3 minutes. Keep warm!

    Add the oil to a large, lidded/heavy-bottomed saucepan. Add a few popcorn kernels, cover with a lid and cook over a medium heat until they pop.

    Immediately add the rest of the corn after the corn has popped, replace the lid and cook. Shake the pan occasionally until all the kernels have popped.

    Transfer the popped corn to a large bowl and pour over the melted butter. Sprinkle over your salt and drizzle over the melted umami butter and use your hands to mix well until every piece is coated!
